A Green Valley woman was injured when her Mercedes struck a guard rail and spun into the Interstate 19 median, Tuesday, snarling southbound traffic for more than an hour.

The 67-year-old driver was traveling southbound, just north of the Esperanza Boulevard exit, when she lost control of her vehicle at about 12:50 p.m., Officer Quentin Mehr of the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

Green Valley firefighters responded to the scene along with DPS officers, who closed one lane of the interstate to clean up debris from the broken guard rail, Mehr said.

The woman was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, he said.

" Good work, Pima County.

In many areas of the country Mr. Woods would be free to select other desired items. The resident's initial call would have been ignored since the suspicious person did not seemingly gain entrance was no longer present. "
