Our sincere appreciation

Published: Tuesday, April 1, 2008 8:25 PM MST

Editor:

Thank you to all the people who assisted in rescuing our friend who seriously injured her ankle while hiking near the top of Carrie Nation Mine trail in Madera Canyon March 25.

Our sincere appreciation to:

  • Shannon and her family for use of her cell phone, seeking help, returning back up the mountain until help arrived.

  • The physician and his wife for a blanket and water.

  • The strong policeman from Tucson who sought out and carried the injured women on his back down the mountain until he was met by Green Valley Emergency workers.

  • Green Valley Emergency Team professionals who then took control, made the patient comfortable, assessed the injury, put the rest of us at ease, skillfully placed and secured the patient on a gurney then wheeled her down the last mile to a waiting ambulance, which drove her to a hospital in Tucson.

“Angels,” all of them. We are very, grateful.
