LettersEditor: Two and a half years ago, I wrote about the 2,000 U.S. soldiers who had been killed in the war in Iraq since the beginning in March 2003. Today, unfortunately, I have to write about the 4,000 U.S. soldiers who have died in the war. Their average age 25 years. Just imagine for a moment, if those soldiers had lived another 50 years that would be 200,000 years that could have been productive, which our country would have benefited from. They could have raised families and educated their children. Also to the benefit for our country. Now however, those lives and years are lost, their nearest families have lost and USA has lost young people in their prime. Four thousand soldiers have been killed in a senseless war that few people approve of, except those who didn’t send their own children in harm’s way. Erik Odingard, Green Valley
