NewsSahuarita — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who used a red emergency light to stop a Sahuarita motorist Monday evening, then threatened her with a gun. The man was driving a white pickup truck with a red flashing “Kojak” light in the front dash when he stopped the vehicle on a side street of Rancho Sahuarita Boulevard, near Pima Mine Road, said Sahuarita Police spokesperson Sam Almodova. The suspect, dressed in plain clothes, approached the vehicle and demanded that the woman role down her window. When she refused, he pulled out a handgun, the officer said. The woman drove away and called 9-1-1, he said. The man is described as a Hispanic-looking male, with no accent, is his late 40s or early 50s, 5-foot, 11-inches tall, and stocky, weighing 250 to 280 pounds. He was wearing jeans, a long sleeve tan and brown horizontal striped shirt and black and white snakeskin cowboy boots. His truck was an older white mini pick-up with body damage on the driver’s side. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sahuarita Police Department at 344-7000, 9-1-1, or 88-Crime. jrichardson@gvnews.com | 547-9726
