Ruby Road bridge closes through Thursday

The state highway department plans to shut some of the Ruby Road bridge over I-19 through 8 a.m. Thursday.

There are five lanes on the bridge and one lane east and one lane west will remain open. The closures will permit maintenance work on the bridge

The bridge is between the Rio Rico exit and the Grand Avenue exit in north Nogales.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said the bridge connects to State Route 89 to the west and Ruby Road on the east.

In a press release, a spokesman said: “Motorists are advised to watch for construction personnel and public safety officers and to obey all posted speed limit signs and detour routes while traveling through the construction area.”
