Futile effort

Your headline article on Sunday, March 16 about the trash left by illegals near Madera Reserve points out the futility of letting illegals cross the border and then trying to round them up after they’ve trekked across the desert, many having died along the way.

If they were stopped at the border instead of trying to stop them at the checkpoint on I-19, they wouldn’t be skirting around the checkpoint and into Madera Reserve and all the other neighborhoods surrounding the checkpoint.

I think most everyone is aware too that a lot of the trash, mostly water bottles and clothing, is left behind when Border Patrol agents make illegals leave everything behind when they round them up for deportation back to Mexico.
