Peace march marks 5th anniversary of war

A peace march and vigil will be held in downtown Tucson on Wednesday to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Iraq war.

Participants will gather at 4 p.m. at Armory Park, 6th Avenue and 12th Street, and will march through downtown for a 5 p.m. vigil at the federal building, 300 W. Congress St.

Creative displays of peace and mourning are encouraged.

Sponsors include: United for Peace and Justice, Tucson Peace Action Coalition, National Organization for Women, Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, Arizona Peace Council, Jobs with Justice Tucson Veterans for Peace, Salt of the Earth Labor College, The Latino Doctrine, Democracy Organizing Group, Tucson Club-CPUSA and the Tucson Peace Center.
