NewsIt’s almost time for Tubac Rotary Club’s annual Taste of Tubac and tickets are on sale now. Eleven Santa Cruz Valley restaurants will provide their specialities for the evening of dining and entertainment on the grounds of the Tubac Presidio State Historic Park, 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 5. There’s a limited number of tickets, and they can be ordered by phone, 398-9371, 398-1913 or 398-8603, or at several local locations. The participating restaurants include Artist’s Palate, Dos Silos of Tubac Golf Course, Cafe Presidio and Catering, Shelby’s Bistro, Stables Restaurant at Tubac Golf Resort and the Tubac Deli and Coffee Co., all of Tubac, also Wisdom’s Cafe of Tumac‡cori, the Cow Palace and Kristofer’s Bistro and Catering, both of Amado, the Red Rooster Cafe of Arivaca and Esplendor Resort at Rio Rico. The Rotary Club said proceeds from last year’s event benefited eight local organizations, Humane Society of Southern Arizona, Anza Trail Coalition, Hands of a Friend, Junior National Young Leaders Conference, Community Food Banks (Amado and Green Valley branches), St. Andrew’s Children's Clinic, Rio Rico scholarships and the Tubac Community Center. Tickets are $35 a person and advance tickets are required. During the evening there will be a silent auction of items from throughout the area. Tickets are available at the Green Valley Chamber of Commerce, Kristofers in Amado, Tubac Visitors Center, Yard Woman, Jane’s Attic, the Artist’s Daughter and Tubac Presidio State Park.
