Folksinger featured at Sunday forum

Jeni Foster, a folksinger and Chautauqua scholar from Grants Pass, Ore., will be the featured singer/lecturer on Sunday, March 9, at 10 a.m. at ‚anoa Hills Center, 3660 S. Camino del Sol,

Sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist congregation, the forum will focus on Malvina Reynolds, a woman whose lilfe was entangled with the social upheaval of mid-20th century America.

Titled “A Voice for Peace and Justice,” the program will highlight some of Reynolds’ song made famous by Harry Belafonte, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger and other legendary talents. Some of the titles: “Little Boxes,” “Turn Around,” “What Have They Done to the Rain?” “Peace isn’t Treason.”

The UU Sunday Forums are open to all, free, and feature a variety of speakers and performers. The congregation meets at 10 a.m. on Sundays at Canoa Hills auditorium.
