AAUW Border Issues Study Group meets at 2 p.m. at the Joyner-Green Valley Library. Dr. Judy Gans, director of the immigration policy program at the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy at UA, will speak. Her areas of expertise include immigration and globalization, U.S. immigration policy, economics and trade. The public is invited.

Minnesota Historical Society will host a special presentation at 1 p.m. at American Legion Post #66, 1560 W. Duval Mine Road, Sahuarita. Society members and friends and individuals with an interest in history or a family connection to Minnesota are invited. Program will focus on the launching of MN150, a celebration of 150 years of statehood.

Scandinavian Group of Desert Hills Lutheran Church will have a potluck at 5 p.m. Please bring a dish to share for 10-12 people and your own set-ups. There will be a Danish Heritage story and Scandinavian Adventures. You do not have to be a member of the church to join the group. Any descendant of the Nordic Countries is welcome. Green Valley Branch No. 77 of the Fleet Reserve Association, meets at 11:30 a.m. at the Cow Palace in Amado. Totem Spirit Doll Making Meditation Workshop will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Madara Cultural Center at Amado Territory. The workshop, sponsored by the Center for Positive Living and presented by artist Gretchen Lima, begins with a slide presentation followed by a guided imagery meditation. Green Valley Mall Spring Market opens and runs 9 a.m.-5 p.m. through March 15. Exhibitors will include arts and crafts and farmers market vendors. Optimist Club sausage will be on sale. The mall is located at I-19 and Esperanza Boulevard. Information: 625-6551.

Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest Chapter meets at 10:30 a.m. in La Vista’s private dining room at La Posada. This is a support group for caregivers, family, friends and spouses of loved ones with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. The Minnesota Club will celebrate St. Urho’s Day with a dinner party at 5 p.m. at Desert Hills Center. Come dressed in purple and green. Music by the Country Drifters.
