BusinessTwo new businesses, Beauty Solutions and Seams Right Alterations ” which offer permanent makeup procedures and custom clothing alterations, respectively ” are sure to make a splash in Green Valley. Lynnae Stamy, a licensed permanent makeup technician at Beauty Solutions, says there are many reasons a woman should consider getting her eyebrows, lips or eyelids “tattooed.” “It’s so convenient for people who have hectic lifestyles and just don’t have the time to spare each morning,” she said. Permanent makeup is also ideal for women with allergies to makeup, or for those who might suffer from poor vision or an unsteady hand. The process, known as micro-pigmentation, dates back to the start of the 20th century and became popular in the 1930s. In the last few decades, inks that contained iron-oxides were replaced with all-organic pigments, which prevent the discoloration and fading that made the procedure less-desirable in the past. Stamy has worked on women ages 16 to 90, who chose permanent makeup for reasons of both convenience and necessity, she said. “I love what I’m doing because it helps people look and feel better about themselves.” Stamy, who has had her brows, lip line and eyelids enhanced, says that the choice was perfect for her busy lifestyle and has made her “lazy” “ but in a good way. “I get up in the morning, shower, wash my face and I’m out the door. I don’t even bother with mascara any more.” Carol Meyer, of Seams Right Alterations, has been sewing since she was a little girl and last year decided to turn her passion into a career. She found a demand for the service in Green Valley, where she is one of only three full-time seamstresses. Meyers sews clothing, pillow cases, curtains ” just about anything, she says. “I’ve made everything from wedding dresses to dog collars.” “A lot of bikers have been coming in lately and having me sew patches on their leather jackets,” she said. “I’ve met a lot of interesting people in the few months I’ve been here.” Beauty Solutions and Seams Right Alterations are in Green Valley at 1910 N. La Cañada Drive, in the Vaughan Plaza next to Talk Of The Town. Call Lynnae Stamy at (520)-954-9922 to make an appointment for a free consultation.
