NewsBobo Bobo’s dad was recently disabled by a stroke and is unable to care for him (or his housemate, Daisy) any longer. His son could only take two of the four dogs in the family, so because Bobo and Daisy are small, purebred Jack Russell terriers, the family thought Bobo and Daisy would find new, loving, homes very quickly from visitors to The Animal League of Green Valley. Bobo is a 6-year-old, mostly white, neutered guy who weighs about 19 pounds. He is a frisky little guy who loves everybody (even if he is a bit shy at first), and also loves toys, and to sit in your lap for hours. Even though he has been living with Daisy for a while, he is really an “only dog” kind of fellow who would be very happy just sharing his life with his human family. On the intake form at TALGV, his dad said, “Bobo is a sweet little dog perfect for someone who is lonely because he demands all your attention. He has energy that won’t quit and is a good watch dog.” This sounds pretty appealing to us, and we hope it does for you, too. Lindie Oh, what a 13-pound, black with a bit of white, lap-sitting, terrier mix could do for your life! Lindie was found by some kids on their way to school in Sahuarita, and no one can imagine why anyone could have abandoned her. She has the world’s sweetest face and, of course, she simply loves everyone. The folks at TALGV have been spoiling her rotten (which hasn’t been a bit hard for her to take!), so if you would like to continue that tradition, Lindie wouldn’t complain one bit. She is about 5 years old, and although her former owners never had her spayed, she’s “on the list” right now so that will be taken care of shortly. She has had all of her shots brought up to date and is healthy as can be, so if your lap has sort of an empty feeling, she will be ready to fill that space in a “New York minute.” Miss Kitty Miss Kitty’s dad died recently, and since no one in the family could take her, the kind neighbors brought her here so that she can find a new home (because girls like Miss Kitty are what TALGV is all about). She is a good-size calico lady, weighing in at 15 pounds, but that’s probably because for awhile her dad wasn’t able to play with her and make sure that she got lots of exercise. As you can tell from her photo, she’s keeping a very low profile right now because her life has been turned upside down. One of these days, however, when she knows that everything is going to be OK, she’ll come out of her shell and let you know what a wonderful lady she is. No one is quite sure how old Miss Kitty is, maybe 5 or 6, but she is in good shape (for the shape she’s in!) and whoever decides to help her through the trauma of losing her dad and her home will be repaid with many years of purrs, snuggles, and lots of help around the house! Nicky At bit over two years ago, Nicky was found, as a kitten, roaming the streets, by a lovely lady who brought him to safety at TALGV. He was adopted by an active family with kids and a dog, but for some reason they just didn’t “hit it off,” although they all tried very hard and stuck it out for almost 2 years. Nicky would be perfect for a real “cat person” someone who knows that sometimes cats enjoy petting and sometimes they don't. You cat people out there understand how that works when they’ve had enough, you can tell by their demeanor, and both of you just go on with other business. Nicky is an exceedingly handsome, shiny black, neutered boy who can be affectionate, animated, and confident, but still likes his own space now and then (just as lots of humans do!). Nicky would love a home where he and his person can share their lives, both of you doing “your thing” — spending some quality time together and then just sitting around by yourselves and contemplating life’s mysteries. If you are one of those exceptional people who has an affinity for special felines, then you and Nicky might be great partners in life!
