A Nogales man killed by Tucson police last week was driving a car that had been driven by a suspect in an armed robbery at the Radio Shack in Sahuarita earlier that day, police said.

The man was identified as Louis Richard Arboisiere, 32, of Nogales.

Arboisiere also was facing misdemenaor charges in Sahuarita Municipal Court.

The Tucson Police Department said in a news release it is investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Veteran Tucson Police Officer Claude Ralls fatally shot Arboisiere, who attempted to drive away despite repeated commands to stay, TPD said.

Arboisiere was driving a white Chevrolet Malibu with Arizona license plate 934 YJF.

Witnesses at the Radio Shack in Sahuarita Plaza, said a Hispanic male robbed the cash register there Thursday, then left in a white 4-door sedan with that plate, Sahuarita Police Department Sgt. Matt McGlone said.

SPD is still investigating the case.

The same man apparently triggered a suspicious person call to police shortly before at the Wells Fargo Bank, McGlone said.

The robbery was the first one in Sahuarita in several years, police said.
