ACS is open to all singers in Tucson, Green Valley and the surrounding areas.

Rehearsals are in Tucson and Green Valley from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays for six weeks starting on Feb. 25.

ACS rehearsals are Feb. 25, March 10 and 31 at Northminster Presbyterian Church, Tucson, and March 3, 17 and 24 at Valley Presbyterian Church in Green Valley.

The spring concert dress rehearsal is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday, April 4, at Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 E. Speedway Blvd., Tucson, and the performance at that same location is at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, April 5.

ACS is a choral group created by Dr. Jonathan Ng, founder and conductor of ACS, and director of sacred music and arts at Catalina United Methodist Church in Tucson.

ACS presented its debut concert in December 2007 with more than 80 singers participating.

Ng made his Carnegie Hall conducting debut in May 2007 with many of the current ACS members singing under his baton.

Ng received his doctorate in conducting with minors in vocal performance and pedagogy and music history and literature from Indiana University. He received his master’s degree in conducting and church music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J., and has performed all through the states and Europe with world-famous orchestras.
