NewsThe 19th Annual Blessing of the Animals will be held on Sunday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at The Animal League of Green Valley (TALGV), 1600 W. Duval Mine Road. in Green Valley. The Rev. Madonna Moess will conduct the service for us again this year. Rev. Moess is retired from the Green Valley Community Church after 22 years on the staff. She calls the Blessing of the Animals one of the joys of her ministry as she was raised with all kinds of animals. The theme selected by Rev. Moess this year is Mi Casa Es Su Casa in celebration of the newly built wing at TALGV and the ability to care for more animals. In keeping with this theme, you are welcome to dress in colorful, festive garb and decorate your pets, leashes and carriers with bright colors or flowers. All are welcome whether you have a pet to bring or not. If you have lost a pet this past year, you are invited to receive a special blessing as well. Many of the animals who are temporarily residing at the League will also attend the service. Perhaps one of these pets at TALGV will adopt you! The annual Blessing of the Animals offers us an opportunity to celebrate the unique bond we share with animals in our lives. You may call the league at 625-3170 for directions or additional information.
