NewsThere’s still time to vote early in the Feb. 5 presidential preference primary, and so far about 41,000 Pima County voters have, said the county’s election chief. In other election-related news, Green Valley residents can meet representatives of three Democratic primary opponents Thursday night at the American Legion post. Ann Rodriguez, Pima County recorder, said Tuesday of the 23,408 of the 184,520 registered Democrats have voted early and so have 17,253 of the registered 151,563 Republicans. There are two Tucson places to cast ballots through 5 p.m. Friday. One’s the Recorder’s main office, 115 North Church Avenue, the historic pink courthouse downtown Tucson, first floor north wing. The other place to vote is at the Recorder’s east side office, suite D, at 6920 East Broadway, in the Gaslight Theater Complex.Both places are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Early walk-in voting ends at 5 p.m. Friday. In Green Valley president Jim Woodbrey of the Santa Rita Democrats said the candidate representatives will speak at 6 p.m., at the American Legion building, 1550 West Duval Mine Road, Sahuarita. Representatives of Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Barack Obama will be there. The moderator is Sue Ward. No admission’s charged. jlamb@gvnews.com |547-9749
