U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested five illegal entrants over the weekend in southern Arizona who had criminal records including attempted murder, sexual assault and kidnapping.

On Saturday near Douglas, agents arrested Jesus Solano-Montez, who has been convicted of nearly two dozen counts of sexual conduct with a minor in Yavapai County.

Solano-Montez had been jailed in Yavapai County and then sent to Mexico. But in Arizona he was arrested for re-entry of an aggravated felon. If convicted he’ll be deported to Mexico.

In another case Saturday, agents responding to a call from the Pima County sheriff’s office after a vehicle was stopped and 10 Mexican nationals were inside.

One was Adan Padilla, who was held for removal to Denver to face an outstanding warrant for sexual assault.

On Sunday, there were three more arrests in Nogales.
