Casa Community Center is sponsoring beginning cribbage classes at 9:30 a.m. at 780 S. Park Centre, near La Posada. All welcome. Green Valley Forum meets at 10 a.m. at East Center. Donald Severe will describe the activities of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and talk about the problems of illegal immigration. All GVR members and their eligible guests are welcome.

Feb. 6

Eagle Scout Alumni of Green Valley and the Santa Cruz Valley will have an informal luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the Coyote Grill at the San Ignacio Golf Club. All former and present Boy Scouts of Eagle rank are invited to this no-host lunch to enjoy fellowship, exchange stories about experiences in Scouting. The Democratic Club of the Santa Ritas will have a grand opening of its headquarters at 12:30 p.m. at the Green Valley Mall. There will be live music, refreshments, a ribbon-cutting, and speeches. U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, other elected officials, candidates and party leaders will be attending.
