NewsThe Associated Press LAS CRUCES, N.M.—A 63-year-old Green Valley man accused of killing his paralyzed wife in southern New Mexico has been released from jail. David Taub was released from the Dona Ana County Detention Center after posting a $50,000 bond. A judge had lowered the bond from $100,000 last month. Taub pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and tampering with evidence in November. He had been held at the jail since his release from a hospital after a suicide attempt the same day he was charged with his wife’s slaying. According to court records, Taub has confessed. He initially told police he and his wife, Sherry Taub, stopped at a truck stop in Lordsburg. He said he left their recreational vehicle and returned to find his wife beaten and robbed.
