Interfaith service is Monday

The Interfaith Council of Santa Cruz Valley invites the public to a celebration in word and song honoring the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m. at Green Valley Community Church, La Canada Drive and Esperanza Boulevard.

Don Logan, director of the Scottsdale Office of Diversity and Dialogue and a senior member of Scottdale’s executive team, will be the speaker. He is a past recipient of an award by the Associated Minority Contractors of America, NAACP’s 2005 Image of the Year for Civil Rights award and its Roy Wilkins Public Service Award, the Thurgood Marshall Merit Award by the Alpha Phi Alpha organization.

As director of the office, he serves as liaison to community and Scottsdale employees in addressing diversity challenges.
