Continental board to elect president

The Governing Board of Continental School District No. 39 will have a meeting to elect a new board president and clerk at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the school library.

On the agenda are:

Approval of agenda; approval of minutes; comments from persons wishing to address the board who have completed the proper form and given it to Secretary Cristina Alonso before the start of the meeting.

Also action on field trip requests, several fundraisers, community requests for use of the facilities, and presentation of a flight and U.S. flag, which was flown over Iraq on Nov. 29.

Also, action on an addition to the substitute teacher roster, action the State School Facility Board action to build a second K-8 school by 2013; action on the hiring of a classified staff member; action on four school hiring policies.


There will be a presentation and approval of vouchers for payment by number and policy; reports on budget review, student activity accounts, tax credit donations and board and school events.

Also, reports from the superintendent, business office, PTC and board communication.

There will be a recess to sign documents followed by an executive session and adjournment.

Background information on many of the agenda items may be reviewed before the meeting in the School Officer between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
