NewsAn exhibition of photographs by the late Edward Koenjian who captured war and upheavals in Russia with his lens open Sunday at Nogales’ Hilltop Gallery. Koenjian had lived in Green Valley in retirement with his wife Maria Koenjian. She will talk at the opening and will present his photos of his world travels and his autobiography, “Survived to Tell.” He was a world class microelectronic engineer and one of the things he did was to set up an endowment for a visiting chair in that discipline at the University of Arizona. The opening runs 1 to 4 p.m. at the gallery, just east of Marina and Sage Streets on Hilltop Drive. Call the gallery for directions, 520-287-5515. Talking about the exhibition, Maria Koenjian said, “The story of his life is a telling of the American dream. The photos show his interest in the lives of people of the world.” The photographs captured his world travels.
