Casa Community Center is sponsoring beginning cribbage classes at 9:15 a.m. every Friday, at 780 S. Park Centre, near La Posada. Green Valley Wood Carvers meet at 8:30 a.m. at Friends in Deed, 301 Camino Casa Verde. Any carvers interested in an active club, or anyone wishing to lelarn how to carve is welcome. For information, all Don Moberg.

Jan. 15

Rotary Club of Green Valley meets at 11:45 a.m. at St. Francis-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, 600 La Canada Drive. Chris Kang, executive director of Green Valley Assistance Services, will discuss current activities, needs and future planning for the organization. Greeter: Ray Colony; invocator: Eugene Friesen.

Green Valley Stamp and Coin Club meets at 1:30 p.m. at Friends in Deed, 301 Camino Casa Verde. This will be the annual club auction of stamps and coins. Each member can put five separate items up for bid. Anyone interested in trading or selling stamps or coins or desirous of obtaining information about disposing of thier collections is asked to come at 12:30 p.m.

OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) at the University of Arizona invites interested Green Valley people to two “Meet the Leaders” presentations to introduce study group leaders for spring semester classes Feb. 4 through March 28. Green Valley Forum meets at 10 a.m. at East Center. David Raichlen, Ph.D. in anthropology at the UofA, will speak on the upright posture in human beings. All GVR members and their eligible guests are welcome.

Living with Cancer —Sunstone Cancer Support Group meets at 4:30 p.m. at the Club House at Sonora at Rancho Sahuarita, 600 W. Camino Rancerita. No charge for this program providing hope and healing to people touched by cancer. For information, call 324-2840.

Green Valley Railroad Club meets at 11:30 a.m. at Pauline’s Feedlot Cafe. Members will view a video of interest and discuss their various projects. Visitors and guests always welcome.

Help the Horses Fun Day takes place in Sonoita at the Grand Adventures Ranch, 30880 Hwy 83 (SE of 82/83 intersection.) From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be rescued horses for adoption, lilve music, food, vendors, bake sale, silent auction. There also will be displays of hosemanship skills and round pen groundwork demos, and natural hoof trimming. Proceeds support saving abused, injured and sick horses. Admission: $5 per person. Center for Positive Living will sponsor a workshop on “Your Body’s Three-Dimensional Web,” 10 a.m. to noon at the new Madaras Center at Amado Territory Ranch. Valor HospiceCare and Pallative Care meets from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Prestige Assisted Living, 1175 S. Abrego Drive. New England Club will have a dinner catered by Arizona Family Restaurant starting at 5:15 p.m. at West Center.
