The boyfriend of 18-year-old Adrianna Klawson, the Green Valley woman killed Sunday in an auto accident, has been arrested in connection with her death.

Esteban Arnoldo Grijalva-Madrid, 22, was charged Wednesday with one count of manslaughter and three counts of child abuse, said Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada.

Reports initially said Klawson was driving the pickup truck when it lost control and overturned Sunday near Mount Hopkins Road in Amado.

“Our detectives found discrepancies with the physical evidence at the scene and with Grijalva-Madrid’s initial 9-1-1 call. After interviewing him, we determined that he was in fact the driver of the vehicle, not Klawson,” Estrada said.

Authorities believe Grijalva-Madrid was under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred.

His three children were passengers in the vehicle and suffered minor injuries.

Grijalva-Madrid has been booked into the Santa Cruz County Adult Detention Center in Nogales.

Klawson, formerly of Michigan, moved to Green Valley to be with her grandparents. She is a former waitress at the Cow Palace in Amado.

" Good work, Pima County.

In many areas of the country Mr. Woods would be free to select other desired items. The resident's initial call would have been ignored since the suspicious person did not seemingly gain entrance was no longer present. "
