Born Nov. 11, 1924, in Southbridge, Mass., he graduated from Southbridge High School and served as a B17 pilot in the Army Air Corp. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years. He and his wife of 59 years, Nancy (Vincent) Richard, retired to Green Valley in 1979.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter Linda Richard of Loveland, Colo.; four sons: Peter Richard of Tombstone, Marc (Bonnie) Richard of Warren, Mass., Scott (Dawn) Richard of Victor, Mont. and Robert Richard of Southbridge; also surviving are eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters Constance Stockdale of Putnam, Conn. and Pauline Laliberte of Portland, Maine.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wilfred and Aldora Richard; and brother Paul Richard.
Private services were held in Green Valley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Andrews Children Clinic of Nogales, Ariz., or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital of Memphis, Tenn.
