JOE H. BEVER, of Green Valley,

and formerly of Garden City, Kan., peacefully passed away at the age of 82 at his home on Dec. 20,2007.

He was born in Centerville, Iowa on March 10,1925, to F. M. (Jack) and Mildred (Hellyer) Bever. The family later moved to Crook, Colo. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in Germany. His lifelong career was in agriculture business in Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas.

In 1956, he married Crystal J. Marley and had three children: Vicki Trillo of Laveen, Ariz., Jack Bever of Ness City, Kan., and James Bever of Hutchinson, Kan. In 1974, he married his wife Georgie Hemel and through marriage became step-father to Janetha Abeyta of Loveland, Colo., Virgil Hemel of Colby, Kan., and Marilyn Luebbers of Leoti, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister JoAnne Smith; and granddaughter Stephanie Leatherman.

He is survived by a large loving family including his wife; children and their spouses; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; as well as his nephew Bob Smith of Livermore, Calif.

Memorial services in Green Valley and Scott City, Kan. will be announced at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the Green Valley Parkinson’s Support Group, P.O. Box 714, Green Valley, AZ 85622.
