The annual Western art show sponsored by the Empire Ranch Foundation will have a special event exhibit when it opens Jan. 22 at the Northern Trust Bank, 3450 East Sunrise Dr. in Tucson.

There’ll be a wall in the bank dedicated to just art work taken from the historic ranch in eastern Santa Cruz County.

Many of those will be of scenes from the ranch or people who are prominent in its history and development. One of them will be selected as “Best of the Empire.”

Jurors selected 100 works for this annual show from more than 460 submissions.

The show will run during normal work days from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. There’s no charge.

The Empire Ranch Foundations, friends, the bank and others spend much time and effort to preserve the ranch north of Sonoita east of State Route 83.

The ranch has periodic events that attract artists to paint, draw and start the creative process for sculpture.

Viewers at the show at the Northern Trust Bank will help select a “Peoples Choice Award.”

For more information about the show and the foundation, go to www.empireranchfoundation.org.

The show runs until Feb. 29.
