Two Sahuarita youths were arrested Wednesday on charges of criminal damage, disorderly conduct and theft.

Around 12:30 p.m, officers responded to a call at the 28000 block of South Foxwood Way from the mother of the boys, aged 16 and 17, who said they were in a rage and breaking items in the house.

She had reported a gun stolen from the residence, Monday. The boys, while detained, admitted to taking the gun and selling it, reports said.

The suspects were arrested and booked into the Pima County Juvenile Detention Center.

  • A Sahuarita woman reported her vehicle stolen, Tuesday, and believes the car may have been taken to Mexico to be sold.

The victim gave a friend the keys to her car to run errands, Monday, and says he never returned with the vehicle.

  • She later received a call from an unknown man who informed her that the friend had a drug problem and drove to Mexico to sell the car, reports said.

Because the victim gave the suspect permission to drive, the vehicle was originally listed as embezzled, though the offense has been upgraded to stolen vehicle.

  • A Green Valley man was arrested Wednesday morning on charges of domestic violence.

Sheriff’s officers responded around 4:30 a.m. to the Via Alamos Apartments on La Canada Drive., where Javier Ybarra Montoya, 31, was arrested for disorderly conduct and domestic violence.

Montoya was taken to the Pima County Adult Detention Center, reports said.

  • Sheriff’s officers from the Green Valley district aided in the discovery of a woman who had been lost in the Sonoita desert for nearly three hours, in near-freezing temperatures.

The 43-year-old woman was found around 6 p.m. Monday near Highway 83 and milepost No. 43, after she had left her vehicle following a verbal altercation with her boyfriend, reports said.

Rincon officers and an Arizona Department of Public Safety Ranger helicopter were also called in to look for the missing woman, who was found uninjured.
