Many people from near and far gave food and money this year at the Nativity Scene on Christmas Eve at Pueblo Estates. Small donations and large donations all contributed to the record-setting high amounts: $600.50 in cash and a whopping 148 pounds of food to the Food Bank.
Many factors were responsible for the huge offering. First, our friendly newspaper, the Green Valley News, helped out big time for its story of Pueblo Estates in the Dec. 23 issue. The news exposure influenced the big turnout and the vast increase in food donations this year.
It was a joy to see so many children pass by wide-eyed and excited and help give to the Food Bank. Many dogs protected by the warmth of their cars barked in approval!
We thank everybody. There seemed to be a lot more cars viewing our Christmas displays.
Many salutes to those who gave this year... a year when the economy is slowing down. We know you gave from your heart.
Next Christmas Eve, we hope to show our wonderful Christmas spirit and even do better.
