BusinessThe Eye Institute of Southern Arizona, which for 25 years has offered specialized outpatient medical care in Tucson, has expanded to Green Valley. “Historically we’ve had a lot of patients out here, and there have been many requests to have a local presence,” said Dr. James Goldman, an ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, corneal transplantation and laser vision correction. “We want to try and make patient care as convenient as possible for our patients, and it’s nice that they don’t always have to commute to Tucson.” Goldman will be based in the Green Valley office on 1055 N. La Canada Drive., Suite 131, along with Dr. Regina Najera, who specializes in cataract surgery, glaucoma management and general eye disease. The first outpatient surgical center in Tucson, and one of the first in the country, the Eye Institute specializes in microsurgery of the eye and refractive surgery, including cataract, with advanced intraocular lenses, corneal, LASIK, implantable contact lenses, and conductive keratoplasty. The aesthetic center, in the Tucson office, offers chemical peels, skin rejuvenation, scar removal and laser hair removal. The Green Valley office is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with variable hours of operation. The Tucson office, at 562 East 5th St., is open five days a week.
