NewsBurglars ransacked two Desert Hills II homes last week, taking one victim’s pet parakeet. A home in Casa Paloma II was also hit. Officers received reports of another burglary Wednesday at a Desert Hills III residence. Authorities believe the break-ins at neighboring houses on South Desert Meadows Circle were related. The suspect entered the homes through a sliding glass door and a window, taking a computer, DVD player, and the bird from one home, and $40 in coins and various items from the other. The owner of the third house, located in the 200 block of North Cactus Loop, had just returned to the residence, which had been unoccupied for several months, and found it had been ransacked. The victim told officers he was missing a rug, telephone, and several wall hangings. The perpetrator entered through an unsecured window, according to reports. The fourth house, on the 100 block of East San Vincent Drive was discovered burgled Wednesday morning by the owner, who had been gone since November 1. He told officers that nothing was missing, but damage had been done to several doors and window screens, as well as a tool shed. Sheriff’s officers have no suspects at this time. jrichardson@gvnews.com | 547-9726
