Desert Hills Lutheran to have fall boutique Nov. 10

Published: Thursday, November 1, 2007 8:22 PM MST

It’s Fall Boutique Time!

The Desert Hills Lutheran Church Women’s Ministry will have its fifth annual Fall Boutique on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church fellowship hall.

The church is at 2150 S. Camino del Sol, Green Valley.

This sale will offer quilts, table toppers, holiday decorations, place mats, potholders, walker caddies, tote bags, aprons, vests and numerous other items the Sewing Bee group of the church has produced this last year. Several designer quilts will be offered via silent auction. The selection will be impressive and the sale is open to the public.

Another feature of this sale is a “ New or Gently Used” table of dishes, collectibles and other items donated by church members.

When attending the boutique, you may want to start at the “Take a Break Cafe” with a cup of coffee and breakfast “goodie” or plan to have a pulled pork sandwich there around lunch time.

The bake sale portion will offer coffee cakes, cookies, breads, brownies, lefse, jams and jellies and even dog treats for your favorite pooch.

Matching funds for the boutique, bake sale and caf/ will be provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. All proceeds from the above three parts of the sale will go to charities. The four charities selected to receive funds this year are: Green Valley Assistance Services; St. Andrew’s Children’s Clinic, Nogales; Grace Home/The Giving Tree, Tucson; and the Navajo Lutheran School, Rock Point.

Rada knives will be on sale that day, too, which is an on-going fundraiser for the church women’s group. The library will have a used book sale for you to stock up on winter reading books.

Call Yvonne Steinbring, 399-2523, for more information.
