Tubac Presidio State Historic Park hosts Anza Days to commemorate the trek of Juan Bautista de Anza from Tubac to found San Francisco in 1775-76. Costumed actors, such as Hector Sosa (above playing a Spanish officer Saturday afternoon) portray life at that time. The celebration, which continues today, also includes events such as mariachi music and cowboy rope tricks. The presidio is located at 1 Burruel St. in Tubac off Interstate 19, exit 34. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children. More photos, A3.
