More than a dozen prominent Tucson jazz musicians will be brought together for this year’s Super Jam festival in celebration of the Tucson Jazz Society’s 30-year anniversary.

The event, sponsored in part by the Glassman Foundation, will take place Sunday, Sept. 30, starting at 7 p.m. at St. Philip’s Plaza, Campbell Avenue and River Road in Tucson.

Super Jam’s core band, composed of Ed DeLucia on guitar, Fred Hayes on drums, Scott Black on bass and Dan “Sly” Slipetsky playing keyboard, will be joined by special guests throughout the evening.

The audience will be treated to melange of jazz genres and styles in a music festival format.

Guest musicians will include vocalists Lisa Otey and Diane Van Deurzen; drummer Robin Horn; guitarist Allin Kibben and Matt Mitchell with Hot Club of Tucson playing its Django Reinhardt style of Gypsy jazz; and JazzWerx and Arizona Jazz Academy student bands.

“The 2007 Super Jam jazz party will showcase and celebrate the extraordinary talent that we have right here in Tucson,” said TJS Executive Director Patricia Possert.

Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance through TJS and all Bookman’s locations.

Visit the TJS Web site at www.tucsonjazz.org or call 903-1265.

Ticket prices are $20 for the general public; $15 for TJS members; $10 for students.
