NewsWanted: Homes for these four loving companions
Ivanhoe Ivanhoe, his mother and three brothers were left by a tenant at a rental house. The kindly landlady found them before their mom starved to death (they were just newborns, about two days old) and brought them to The Animal League. Now Ivanhoe is a healthy, happy and active 5-month-old black and white kitten who loves to purr and play. He has tested negative for kitty diseases, has had his kitten shots and has been neutered. He is ready right now to be adopted into a home where he will be loved and can love you with all his heart. Roberta Roberta is a sweet, young, grey striped tabby who needs a home. She was found underneath a pickup truck when a dog barked at her and alerted his owner that Roberta was there. The lady couldn’t keep her because her dog is not cat-friendly, but she was kind enough to bring her to The Animal League (along with Buttercup, a young Himalayan mommy, and her four kittens who were under the truck with Roberta). She was getting along fine with the other cats and, as such, would probably be good in a multiple cat home (maybe with dogs, too). She is a little shy right now, but that is to be expected considering the turmoil in her life recently—who knows what her past was like and why she was under that truck? You’re invited to come and see her at the Animal League, so you can get to know each other. One thing is certain... Roberta needs a loving home and maybe you can provide it for her! MacGruff If you’re looking for a canine “kisser,” look no further! MacGruff is a young (4 months old?) tan (with captivating freckles) heeler/shepherd mix guy who loves people, kids, dogs, and yes, even cats (well, LOVE might be a bit too strong on that one!). MacGruff was found as a stray by a young family who already had a full complement of canine/feline critters, so they simply couldn’t add one more to the mix. According to them, MacGruff is friendly, good natured, and, right now, tends to allow other dogs “boss” him (but of course he’s still young, so he may get a bit more assertive as he matures!). He already has his puppy shots and has been neutered, so he is ready right now to join a family that will enjoy his youth (but that will also have time to set him on the right track and mold him into “Mr. Perfect”), and then settle down and take pleasure in all the wonderful things that canines and humans share. Rio Whoa! Talk about handsome! And sweet, loving, and affectionate to boot! Rio is a black-masked, buff-colored, year-old, shepherd (and maybe Husky) mix who is just itching to find a family that he can take care of (and vice versa of course). Rio found his way from the desert into the yard of some people who took him in, fed, and cared for him as long as they could, but much as they wanted to, they couldn’t make him a permanent member of their family. His beautiful coat was terribly dirty and matted when he arrived, but the sweet people at TALGV have been sprucing him up, so he’ll be just the most gorgeous thing you’ve ever seen. Rio loves to lean against you and give kisses, and knows a few commands, so maybe he belonged to someone once. All we know now is that he’s ready, willing and available to be your best friend, so when you’re ready to add a well-behaved gentleman like Rio to your family, he’s all set to go!
