How’s your back doing these days?

Most of us have a few bothersome cricks and kinks, and some may suffer from more serious medical issues. Whatever your need, Sahuarita chiropractor and physiotherapist Dr. Miles Romney, D.C., can help.

“Every chiropractor has their own story,” said Romney, whose new practice opened in September. His involves — you might have guessed it — an old sports injury.

The long-time Sahuarita resident became interested in chiropractic after a botched tackle at a Sahuarita High School football game injured the left side of his body. Neurosurgeons told him he was through playing contact sports and that a full recovery from his injuries would be a lengthy process.

But after seeking treatment from a family friend who was a chiropractor, Romney recovered fairly quickly and was soon able to return to a full range of motion. The natural athlete became an amateur boxer, which brought him more exposure to the medical field that became his passion.

“I’ve been in the position of my patients,” said Romney. “My number one priority has always been patient care.”

Romney is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, the leading chiropractic institute in the nation established by the founder of the chiropractic health field. After working in Tucson for three years, he decided to open a practice is his home town. With Green Valley’s established senior community and the young families of growing Rancho Sahuarita, Romney is looking forward to the diverse groups of people he’ll be working with.

“The youngest person I’ve ever adjusted was less than a day old, the oldest person I’ve adjusted was 108,” said Romney, whose experience lies in pediatric, geriatric and sports chiropractics.

What sets him apart from many chiropractors is his qualification with several different chiropractic techniques, including electrical muscle stimulation and therapeutic exercises. This allows him to provide an individualized experience for the patient, he says.

“Everybody is different, and everyone is going to respond differently to types of treatment,” he said.

Romney is offering a complete chiropractic exam and consultation for 39 dollars, which includes x-rays if needed.

Romney Chiropractic is located in the Madera Marketplace next to the Super Wal-Mart in Sahuarita, at 720 W. Calle Arroyo Sur, Ste. 160. His hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The office is closed every day from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

You can reach Dr. Romney at 625-5776.
