Health Screening: Green Valley Community Church invites the community to a sophisticated health screening on Monday, Oct. 8. This is an opportunity for receive early warning for risk of stroke, heart attack, aneurysms, cancer peripheral artery disease, diabetes and other diseases. Potluck: Catholic Golden Age will have its first meeting of the season on Monday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Center, Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Board meeting at 2:30 p.m. Mark Stonestreet will speak on fire prevention. There will be a potluck. Please bring a dish to share.

Early Christmas: Church Women United in Tucson will have a Christmas in September on Saturday, Sept. 22, at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6565 E. Broadway, Tucson. Beginning with Christmas goodies at 9:30 a.m., the program will include carol signing, story telling, and news from the social agencies that work with women, children and young adults. Please bring new, unwrapped toys, book and trinkets for the agencies to give to children and teenagers. All are welcome, including children. If you are bringing infants or toddler, call Audrey Wade, 748-7996, for nursery care.
