Tubac accepting entries though Oct. 26 for participation in 2008 Festival of the Arts

Tubac is looking for artists for its annual Festival of the Arts, and deadline for entries is Oct. 26. The festival will be Feb. 6-10, 2008.

About 160 juried artists and artisans and 20 food vendors will be selected to set up tents in the centuries old site of a Spanish presidio.

Tubac bills itself as a place where art and history meet. There are about 100 shops, art galleries and studios in the village, 20 miles south of Green Valley on Interstate 19.

The Spanish presidio was established in 1752 to protect settlers.

Artists and craft persons wanting to enter the Tubac festival should contact the sponsoring organization, the Tubac Chamber of Commerce at 398-2704.
