Service planned for tour guide fatally injured at Rocky Point

Char White, the popular Green Valley - Sahuarita tour guide who died as the result of an accident southeast of Rocky Point, Mexico Sept. 8, will be remembered Saturday at a memorial service.

Son Peter White said the service will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Arizona Historical Society Museum, 949 East Second Ave., Tucson. The museum is west of Park Street across from the University of Arizona campus.

Char White suffered a broken neck while snorkeling at Bird Island while she was leading a tour there. A man sliding down a slide from the tour boat’s stern landed on her

She was survived by her sons Peter and Tim and her former husband Bill White.
