Green Valley Danes invited anyone of Danish ancestry to attend their meeting on Sunday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. at La Posada’s rec center. Program will be an update on current events in Denmark and a short Danish lesson. For information, call Lee Laughner, 393-1199.

Green Valley Wood Carvers will meet on Monday, Sept. 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Friends in Deed, 301 Camino Casa Verde. Any wood carvers interested in an active carving club or any person wishing to learn how to carve is welcome. For information, call Vern Preator, 393-0053.
The Springs at Santa Rita Homeowners’ Association board meets on Monday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m. in the Fiesta Room at the SRS rec center. All homeowners welcome.

Busy Beaders will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 9 a.m. at Bank of America, corner of La Canada and Continental. This is a change of time and place for this meeting. Jenny Coniglio will be the speaker on “All About Stringing.” She requests you bring round nose and flat nose pliers because she will demonstrate wire wrapping. Also bring interesting beads you don’t know what to do with, a design problem, questions on findings or a restringing project. Also a beadboard or cloth. Call Jane Lovel, 625-2243, for information.

Santa Cruz Valley Kennel Club based in Green Valley/Sahuarita, is holding fun match on Sunday, Sept. 30, at Rillito Park Race Track, 4501 N. 1st Ave., Tucson. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with judging starting a 1 p.m. Junior showmanship competition if free if dog is entered in another class. Tune up your AKC registered dogs for the upcoming show season. Welcoming Diversity Committee, an interfaith group started by the Unitarian Universalists, is sponsoring a public education meeting on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 9:30 a.m. at the Joyner-Green Valley Library.
