Conscious aging to be the topic of discussion

Published: Thursday, September 13, 2007 8:05 PM MST

Bill McCreery, Casa de Esperanza’s executive director, and Tari Muir of La Posada, will lead an “Introduction to Conscious Aging” on Thursday, Sept. 20, 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the Community Center.

The introduction will provide an overview of an upcoming 6-week series based on the book “From Age-ing To Sage-ing: A Profound New Vision of Growing Older,” by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi.

The book presents a model for living one’s elder years more consciously, more joyfully and more compassionately. It can help us develop a balanced plan for our elder years that is compassionate and beneficial to others.

The workshop will focus on life review, inner wisdom, and the role of spiritual development in later years. Learn to bring more adventure, joy, mystery and meaning to your life by undertaking the inner work that leads to personal renewal and focuses on a new dimension of conscious aging.

There is no charge for “Introduction to Conscious Aging.”

The upcoming 6-week series will be every Thursday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. begins Oct. 4 through Nov. 8.

The Casa Community Center is located at 780 S. Park Centre, adjacent to La Posada. To register for the Introduction call Sue at 275-3521. Visit CasaCanHelp.org.
