NewsEvery year the Green Valley Community Coordinating Council issues a community directory and it’s looking for a cover design for the next one. The theme this year is “Green Valley: A Rainbow of Possibilities.” Entries will be accepted through Friday, Oct. 5, at the council’s office, 101-14B South La Canada in the Green Valley Mall. Joyce Finkelstein, council executive director, said previous covers have included depictions of the plants, animals and people of southern Arizona. Images must be no larger than 8 by 10 inches and they can be photos, oil or water color paintings, computer generated art or digitally enhanced photos. Entrants must include their name, address and phone number, and no one can submit more than five entries. Contest rules are available at the council’s office. The winner will be named in late November. The council annually distributes more than 25,000 of the free directories. This year’s cover featured the photograph of a bobcat kitten submitted by Bob Martin. He shot 42 pictures of bobcat kittens playing his backyard before they wandered into the brush and disappeared. jvl@gvnews.com | 547-9749
