Aug. 15
Desert Meadows III Homeowners’ Association will have a board meeting and potluck at 4 p.m. today at Abrego South Rec Center. There will be information on when east frontage road work will start, and finish, and on the water company.

Aug. 16
Valle Verde Rotary Club meets on Thursday, Aug. 16, at 7 a.m. at the Community Church. Membership chair Tom Brown will be presenting a “Fireside Chat.” For information, contact Lynne Skelton, 625-8286.

Aug. 17
Democratic Women in Action meet at the Joyner-Green Valley Library from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug.17. They will present a program on “Domestic Violence and Seniors.” Speakers from the Brewster Center will discuss what may be a prevalent and secret problem in Green Valley. All are welcome to attend.

Aug. 18
Legislative District 30 Republicans will meet on Saturday, Aug. 18, at noon at American Legion Post 109, 15921 S. Houghton Road. Speaker will be Patti Nolan, Pima County Clerk of the Superior Court. Saturday Breast Cancer Survivors Support Group will meet on Aug. 18 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, 600 La Canada Drive. Bring a brown bag lunch if you wish. Call Carol Lyons, 625-5458, for information. Reservations not necessary.

Aug. 22
The Ostomy Support Group will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 1 p.m. at Friends in Deed, 301 Camino Casa Verde. Open discussion. Call Jean Rubin, 648-1225, or John Walker, 393-7210, for information.
