Guest Comment: Warning: Toxic I-19 checkpoint report ahead

The Open Borders, Pro-Illegal Immigrant and Anti-Security Working Group is about to meet for the final time [Aug. 21, 4 p.m. Sahuarita High School] and produce a report that WILL denounce the Permanent Border Patrol Checkpoint on I-19. Why am I so confident in this assessment?

Here are a few reasons why you should support the Border Patrol and ignore this Working Group:

The first one is simple.

This committee is largely composed of members created in the image of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

Surrendering, whether it’s freedom and liberty in the War on Terror, or sacrificing your security on the southern border is what they do. It’s in their DNA.

They have come out of the closet and their real agenda has been revealed.

The business activists, who are the defacto leaders, on this working group have been prominent in the media endorsing the failed U.S. Senate Immigration Bill that was recognized throughout the nation as an Amnesty Bill.

These business people are now creating coalitions publicly condemning the permanent checkpoint and the new Arizona law that requires businesses to make an effort to ensure that their workforce is actually legal.

What a novel concept.

This new law has been widely heralded throughout the country as a great first step in combating illegal immigration.

Rather than reacting like responsible corporate citizens, these business people are attempting to unseat the state lawmakers who put your security interests over their profits. Why?

It leaves one to believe that there may be some serious deficiencies with their hiring practices. Remember, jobs are the primary cause of ILLEGAL immigration.

Arizona’s crime rate is among the highest in the nation, and the Pima County Sheriff created a Special Crimes Task Force to combat criminal activity emanating from the border.

But the Chamber of Commerce in Green Valley/Sahuarita and Tubac favor these businesses at the expense of your safety.

Make no mistake; this working group has squandered an opportunity and a mandate they were afforded at the outset to serve all surrounding communities by providing some constructive and meaningfully recommendations that would assist the Border Patrol in implementing the checkpoint.

But that won’t happen.

So what can you do to enhance you and your family’s security interests? In the short run, show up at their meeting on Aug. 21 and support the Border Patrol.

The Border Patrol has no hidden agenda, their motives are transparent, and they are the only organization taking proactive measures to protect and defend all of us from the criminal and terrorist elements that threaten our communities, state, and nation.

In the long run that’s simple also.

You can’t trust the Democrats with something as important as the safety and security of your family.

There are no Harry Trumans left.

Once you come to grips with that, it just needs to get reflected in the people you send to the State Legislature and Congress.
