Two other intersections were shut down during the storm. The National Weather Service issued a flood watch at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. It remained in effect until 9 p.m. after strong storms raced through the Avra Valley area between Sahuarita and Three Points. About 10,000 customers in Green Valley and Sahuarita lost power after lightning hit a nearby Tucson Electric Power substation transformer. Nearly 3,800 were still without electricity late Saturday night. |
