Welcome to Single Life, a new weekly column in the Green Valley News.

We invite you to come along and explore issues, obstacles, facts and solutions that focus primarily on the single adult.

The world of being single offers many topics we can explore. You can probably come up with several yourself.

To successfully manage a single life takes some work. We all have different interests and we constantly have to make adjustments to just keep up in this world where everything changes not by days or weeks, but by seconds.

This column will look into issues that are timely and others that never seem to change.

We respect your opinions, but that’s not what we want. We want to know what you need to know. We can spotlight everything from money management to cooking for one.

If you would like some help on topics that effect your wealth, your retirement, even understanding of the mind of your granddaughter, we will step right in and call on the professionals.

We respect the intelligence and curiosity of our readers and will be very careful not to turn this into a space where you can rant. We will wade into topics you care about as a single and we will also offer up our own puzzlements and look for answers.

One caveat here, I am a new resident to Green Valley. As such, my approach tends to focus on sentences that start with “how come” or “where does all that copper go?”

So you’ll forgive me if sometimes we really get down to some basic stuff.

Nevertheless, you just might learn something. I know I will.

Let’s go!
