But, the effervescent new “American Idol” champ says, she’s got another name to add: Sanjaya Malakar. The lanky Malakar, also 17, made a strong impression during the sixth season of the Fox competition, transforming from shy guy to media superstar in a span of weeks. The two teens will sing with other finalists on the “American Idol” concert tour, which kicks off July 6 in Sunrise, Fla., and wraps up Sept. 23 in Manchester, N.H. Comedian and “30 Rock” co-star Tracy Morgan said in New York City Thursday he is trying to “keep moving forward” after recently experiencing several alcohol-related troubles. In February, Morgan, 38, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drunken driving charges in New York. He previously pleaded no contest to a DUI charge in Los Angeles. As part of his court-ordered treatment, Morgan was recently fitted with the monitoring device, which he will wear for two months — including when he hosts Spike TV’s “Guys Choice” awards on June 13. Longtime “Tonight Show” talk show sidekick Ed McMahon is urging people to donate DVDs for U.S. troops in Iraq. “This program accomplishes two things: the troops are entertained and they know that citizens at home care and support them,” McMahon, 84, said in Palm Springs, Calif. Robert Boots, California spokesman for Operation DVD, said the goal is eventually to have 1 million DVDs distributed to U.S. troops, with more than 200 titles in rotation at each base. Collection boxes are located across the United States at schools, retail stores, churches, and government offices. Universal Orlando Resort is opening a Harry Potter theme park in Florida that will let fans visit many of the iconic locations in the books and movies that endeared the boy magician to millions. “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” is set to open at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park in late 2009, complete with the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade village. “The plans I’ve seen look incredibly exciting, and I don’t think fans of the books or films will be disappointed,” said author J.K. Rowling, who has been working with a creative team to make sure the park resembles the books and films.
