The Elks Auxiliary luncheon will not be held for the months of June, July and August. Next luncheon meeting will be Sept. 12 at 11:30 a.m. at the Elks Lodge.

Legislative District 30 meets on Saturday, June 2, at 10 a.m. at the M&I Bank on Continental. Precinct committee people and all interested in viewing the larger political picture than just Green Valley are welcome.

La Posada’s support group for caregivers of dementia and Alzheimer’s residents will meet on Friday, June 8, at 10:30 a.m. in the private dining room at La Vista, 501 S. La Posada Circle. Green Valley Meditation Group meets every Sunday to experience different forms of meditation. Teachers and facilitators present different programs from 10:30 a.m. to 11: 30 a.m. at the Community Center at Casa Esperanza on the La Posada Campus. On June 10, Victor Shamas, Ph.D, a UA professor of psychology, will describe chanting meditation. Those who would like to bring a percussion instrument to the meeting is welcome to do so. Shamas’ book is “The Chanter’s Guide: Sacred Chanting as a Shamanic Practice.”
