Santa Cruz Valley chapter of the Society of Southwestern Authors meets on Monday, May 7, at 1 p.m. at the Joyner-Green Valley Library. Speaker will be Sam Turner, a retired art and writing teacher who regularly contributes to Arizona Highways and the Aviation and Business Journal. He and his wife Phyllis have published “This Might Help, a Three-Year Walk Through the Valley with the Compassionate Friends,” a compilation of columns from the Tucson Compassionate Friends newsletter offering guidance, comfort and hope to parents who have suffered the death of a child.
