The Green Valley Community Directory will be handed out door-to-door by 350 local volunteers starting Wednesday, March 21, the Green Valley Community Coordinating Council said this week.

The distribution will mark the 37th consecutive year for the directory.

“Depending on weather conditions, complete distribution may take from 10 to 14 days,” said Joyce Finkelstein, GVCCC executive director.

The publisher, AT&T Yellow Pages, has experienced some delays this year, but has assured the council that the directory will indeed be delivered to Green Valley on March 21, Finkelstein adds.

“We are looking forward to the directory hitting the streets and to the beautiful cover photograph taken by local photographer, Robert Martin,”Finkelstein said. “The excellent map has been updated by John Norris, our volunteer cartographer, and by Sandi Richey, of our staff.”

The Green Valley Community Directory may be recycled at the Lewis-Brown Lions Recycle Center, 601 S. La Canada Drive, near the Pima County Government Center (across from the library parking lot). Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon, and Saturday 9 a.m. until noon.

The Lions Club has asked that the front and back covers of the directory be removed before recycling.

Volunteers are instructed to “never” leave a copy at a vacant or unoccupied residence.

If you are away when the volunteers in your subdivision deliver door-to-door, you may pick up your free copy at your convenience at the Green Valley Community Coordinating Council office in the Green Valley Mall, or at the Green Valley Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce office, 270 W. Continental Rd.

" Good work, Pima County.

In many areas of the country Mr. Woods would be free to select other desired items. The resident's initial call would have been ignored since the suspicious person did not seemingly gain entrance was no longer present. "
